Humanism and the faith on progress
That is a quite risky post since this is my third one and I don't speak English as my first language.

There is a writer/philosopher that some of you may be familiar with named John N. Gray. He is pretty much a provocateur, however he is on the same time a great thinker and have some interesting approach about the humankind behaviour.

One of his books (my favourite of his books) is called Straw Dogs: Thoughts on Humans and Other Animals and has a very pessimist view of humankind for many, however I do think he has got a very clear view what life is about and how our society is organised nowadays, which make this book a very interesting reading for many of us.

It is a bit nihilist, which sometimes is good to put things in perspective.
