Where forward thinking terrestrials share ideas and information about the state of the species, their planet and the universe, living the lives of science fiction. Introduction
Featuring Powers of Ten by Charles and Ray Eames, based on an idea by Kees Boeke.
A total eclipse of the Moon occurs tonight, February 20th, 2008. Here is the link to NASA's site, although their site is a little slow at the moment.

The entire event is visible from South America and most of North America (on Feb. 20) as well as Western Europe, Africa, and western Asia (on Feb. 21).

If anyone's camera can capture the eclipse I'd love to see some Space Collective photos of the event!

Fellow SC member Bazzabix let me borrow this great DVD the other day of NOVA The Elegant Universe from a PBS series that aired several years ago.

The series is an adaptation of Physicist Brian Greene's book of the same name and gives a high level look at many of the theories that attempt to define the laws that govern the universe. Although some of the acting is admittedly a bit cheesy (it is PBS after all), the series does a great job explaining complicated topics in terms that everyone can understand.

You can watch each chapter from the video online here: The Elegant Universe
