I dont know if technology should be embraced by architecture. As a student-everything we are learning is on the computer. most of the buildings we create would not have been comprehended or very hard to figure out without computers. Not to mention it is a completely different creative process as well. I am not sure if the evolution towards technology in architecture is a good thing. I think it might be a evolution of understanding and potential but how do you tell? We are the case study-this generation is the case study.

I LOVE REVISITING THOUGHTS, how do we get people to -even before-the precendent-why is drinking so much more pondered than philosophy, the past, the future, ourselves and our role in that. immediacy is more comfortable than longevity.

Is technology really the future? How do we evolve? Do we accept or embrace it?

Human sculls being crushed by machines: if i see someone dying in a movie-the act of dying. skulls being crushed is post death - used to part of a living being that used ot be respected a dystopia of a after life. its a dystopia. no hatred, no respect, no love. the build up of calcium as a human being crushed

    Alas.

My computer is probably killing me. Isn't technology slowly killing us? It makes sense in evolution-that technology would slowly kill us all and not need a user.

I sit with my laptop. Its warmth and humming noise sooth me. The warmth is like the warm touch of a humans....

So, Were in the age of computers and technology.

We are having to expand out language and adapt.

It will be harder for non local and alien residents when they move or try to work and interact with others VIA the internet with all sorta of slang being made up to understand technology and the computer.

I feel like we need to create universal computer language. I am not talking about editing programs-although that is another language in itself. beautiful one in fact.

Also, we will loose our free speech on the internet i feel. If we wanted to revolt against the government and get people to fallow on a website it would be monitored and shut shown!! Can the people every truly own a part of the internet? a free or maybe even private space in this technological reality?

    Okay, here it is SpaceCollective....

The new era. WE are living in an INCREDIBLE TIME-how lucky are we?? We get to witness change unlike anything humanity has seen before. (myb & Hopefully survive it)

[I like to try to write sorta sloppy-it shows the internet fad at the time in terms of communication VIA technology. ]

What is (do you think) going to happen on 2012? Keep this sorta brief and provide links to support your conclusions if at all possible. How do we survive? We need some species to survive...and I am assuming most people on SpaceCollective deserve to make it to he next stage-sort-of-speak.

Do you think nature is killing itself off? Are we the 6th extinction?

Also, If ALL electricity is non usable (which very well could happen) How is our little site going to be preserved for future generations besides just being stored on the internet.

hmm another weird thought just popped in my head-what if they internet and technology is REAL? I mean think about it. EVERYTHING on this Earth has a consciousness. Well I guess I don't mean 'real' but has a separate consciousness and when we can tune into the universe a little more technology along side with us can advance and grow together-spiritually, connectively?

It is incredible how something like this exists.

you know-we are a bright generation. trying to make use of and hold onto technology and the internet. Sometimes i ask myself why, is this good? (whats good and bad..etc)

we all want to change the world. be better. be remembered. but how do we create REAL conscious and social change???

this is almost propaganda. we type on a computer and hide behind these screens and talk about all these amazing things we want to do and the bad in our society-but its no use of anything. its just dead, typed words being exchanged. we are being led to only communicate in mass online virtual, synthetic, non applicable, not real.

    its scary

its getting harder for us to unite -i dont know if we still really can make REAL CHANGE.

whilst staring out of my 4 story window, in my office, sitting in my amazingly comfortable chair, watching the clouds grumble by, stumped on an architecture project i am working on i happened upon a thought. '

it loosely dripped from my mind and showed itself to me. as i was analyzing the human existence below it erupted.

stated 3 separate ways, building upon the previous and after the other

    1. as we organize, change and edit our environment, we loose the natural chaos of nature.
now i feel like adding the natural world or something else upon that statement.

this is only my 2nd time re reading through these-so fresh eyes change my previous reality.

    2. i hate numbering things. but alas... as we change our environment from the natural setting, we no longer view, experience, or get impacted the same way.

also why do we need to edit and present our thoughts in a specific organized fashion? i think we loose our creativity and our point sometimes doesn't come across the same. i want to see original work in its original fashion. not typed all neat. let me see that torn piece of paper, starbucks napkin, school textbook....

    3. as we design a man-made environment, a facilitated and groomed space, we loose the chaos and wonder of nature and its order.

i can barely read my own writing. my letters strung so carelessly together-scratch careless-my thoughts are in another place, this reality only receives snippets. i guess its the best i can allow myself to do ...for now.

i did not edit anything. accept for a few miss spellings. as i was typing this i let my thoughts arrange themselves into words upon this page and tried not to allow myself to fallow any sort of pattern or path. hope you follow. computers now are too organized. they dont allow for necessary chaos and creativity....
