Comment on Perception

Yes I am sure there are many ways of achieving that up to a point. And that can be life-changing enough. What I am talking about—sweeping revelations of the inner workings of the machinery of reality and our small part in it that we call consciousness—simply cannot be achieved by "other means".

But I like your notion of the "small inconsistency". To insert some McKenna: consciousness is like a still pool, when unperturbed, it returns a mirror image of itself. But when it is disturbed (by throwing a rock in it or something), it suddenly reveals all sort of things about itself and it is opened up for the inspection by the individual. And the small inconsistency is a nice start!
