The Anartic Conditions are considered to be the best analogue we have on earth to outer space and the moon . This is due to the extreme temperature and the prolonged periods of darkness. As a result many of the problems associated with living in Space are studied in the Anartic Environment.

Currently the moon offers the most logical celestial body for a colony. The purpose of which would include mining materials, developing energy resources, and research.
