Nervous System creates experimental jewelry, combining nontraditional materials like silicone rubber and stainless steel with rapid prototyping methods. We find inspiration in complex patterns generated by computation and nature.

My favourite serie is Coral:

Each piece of this series is a unique, one of a kind composition born from the intersection of rapid prototyping and pattern generating algorithms. Tiny circles of varying sizes are aggregated into complex configurations that mimic the natural forms of corals and seaweeds. These are then etched in one piece from durable stainless steel. These pendants hang on 16"-18" sterling silver chains.

"Since its debut in Venice in 2002, more than a million and a half people have attended Ashes and Snow, an exhibition of more than 50 large-scale photographic artworks, a 60-minute feature film, and two 9-minute film haiku by Gregory Colbert.

The Nomadic Museum, the permanent travelling home of Ashes and Snow debuted in New York in March 2005 and then travelled to Los Angeles in January 2006 and Odaiba, Tokyo in 2007. It is in Zócalo, Mexico City, in early 2008.

Ashes and Snow is a work in progress. Over the past fifteen years Colbert has collaborated with more than forty species around the world."
