    The Great Online Conciousness transfer

Good afternoon. This is my first post here at the space collective and I wish you all a warm welcome. I have recently started to find interest in philosophy, so you'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge on previously published works. Similarly I also apologise for lack of research on previous topics here at S.C. This is what I have been thinking about recently, most often before bed unfortunately.

Within the next few centuries I can visualise immortality, with consciousness being transferred from the real to the online. Humans will download their memory and personality traits during some point in their life. When the real life ends then the online consciousness will begin existence. Parallel communities will then exist, those online and those offline. Online consciousness will function the same as the real world, with roles in operation of real world robotic systems and various non human activities.

My point about this is that real life with all its trials, tribulations, ups and downs will never be replicated by the online consciousness. I have been thinking on this a great deal and everyday I think how lucky I am to exist in the real and it fills me with poetic notion, for soul-less immortality is around the corner.

    That's my first post.
