    New Species found?
These odd crustaceans were found in an under ground river in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk. According to the source the one in this photo is about 4 feet long, but there is no way of actually telling.

I have not had any luck finding any additional information on this. But I will keep searching. Does anyone have an idea what this could be? It's not a horseshoe crab, its a bit different from that actually, and its fresh water...

If any one has some information please fill me in, i have been raking my brain over this for nearly a month...

you have found a fresh water arthropod common to most of the planet colloquial known as "triops"

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triops

i ordered them as a kit from an educational supply company and they grew to about 5cm in length, totally grossing out some of my designers.

Alright NOOKANYC, you just solved it.

    Thanks!

no problem, i am actually the head of cryptozoology at the institute for unnecessary research in brighton (but not very active past few years as my design biz eats most of my time), so strange creatures are one of my obsessions.

Very cool, I am guessing you are familiar with Jeff Meldrum? (one of my inspirations) cryptozoology and design are pretty much at my core as well. I love the watches on Nooka by the way!

Its a known species, but not known to me, but I don't think i am alone since only one out of dozens knew what it was.
