I think it was Bruce Nauman who said artists are the hardest working people he knows. Everyone wants to be a celebrity or a director or the leader of a revolution, but this is also the most difficult position to be in, the quality of life isn't necessarily the most desirable. I'm not sure if this relates precisely but I think it's worth pointing out. I also realized recently that being different is something very worth protecting, it's the only hope for radical change, even if it causes some suffering to begin with.
