Where forward thinking terrestrials share ideas and information about the state of the species, their planet and the universe, living the lives of science fiction. Introduction
Featuring Powers of Ten by Charles and Ray Eames, based on an idea by Kees Boeke.
A Boltzmann brain is a hypothesized self-aware entity which arises due to random fluctuations out of some future state of chaos. The idea is named for physicist Ludwig Boltzmann, who had advanced an idea that the known universe arose as a random fluctuation, similar to process through which Boltzmann brains might arise.

Boltzmann brains are often referred to in the context of the "Boltzmann brain paradox" or "problem".

The concept arises from the need to explain why we observe such a large degree of organization in the universe. The second law of thermodynamics states that the entropy in the universe will always increase. We may think of the most likely state of the universe as one of high entropy, closer to uniform and without order. So why is the observed entropy so low?

Boltzmann proposed that we and our observed low-entropy world are a random fluctuation in a higher-entropy universe. Even in a near-equilibrium state, there will be stochastic fluctuations in the level of entropy. The most common fluctuations will be relatively small, resulting in only small amounts of organization, while larger fluctuations and their resulting greater levels of organization will be comparatively more rare. Large fluctuations would be almost inconceivably rare, but this can be explained by the enormous size of the universe and by the idea that if we are the results of a fluctuation, there is a "selection bias": We observe this very unlikely universe because the unlikely conditions are necessary for us to be here.

This leads to the Boltzmann brain concept: If our current level of organization, having many self-aware entities, is a result of a random fluctuation, it is much less likely than a level of organization which is only just able to create a single self-aware entity. For every universe with the level of organization we see, there should be an enormous number of lone Boltzmann brains floating around in unorganized environments. This refutes the observer argument above: the organization I see is vastly more than what is required to explain my consciousness, and therefore it is highly unlikely that I am the result of a stochastic fluctuation.

The Boltzmann brains paradox is that it is more likely that a brain randomly forms out of the chaos with false memories of its life than that the universe around us would have billions of self-aware brains

I have decided to take the bold step of trying to provide a fundamental working hypothesis for the clarification of the term game when applied in its philosophical context, so here goes.
But first a note: I find it fascinating to the outmost that we, humans that is, conscious aware beings that is, walk bare footed in front of the great unknown that is life and yet we remain confident that we somehow, intuitively maybe, can understand the great unknown without further need of investigation. The great writers of the Upanishads have stated that:” to know is not to know”, but what does this statement really mean?
My point as I will try to present herewith is that the meaning of these words resides with the concept of the Game (capital G is used to distinguish it from the common usage of the term game) and the ensuing action (and thus behavior) of Gaming.

Let us start with a redefinition of the term itself,
Game I shall define here as the state or situation in which a conscious aware human finds himself in the world. The player (or gamer) is the mind of the individual; the basic restriction of the Game is the world. Hence the game of Life, philosophically presented, can also be called, a human in the World.

A human in the world, a conscious aware being in an unknown universe, unpredictable chaotic world, that is the nature of the state we find ourselves in.
This state then, the Game, defined through the idea that philosophy is the “Love of wisdom” requires of the integrated conscious aware human to pursue a set of mental emotional actions largely consistent with understanding the meaning and application of the knowledge of being, its value, its reality, its way of existence, its experience of time and so on and so forth. Yet above all it must fulfill its original statement of Love of wisdom through the apprehension of the beauty it perceives (or does not perceive).
I desire to argue here that the perception of beauty does not in and of itself lead to a greater reality or a deeper understanding. It however leads the Gamer to a state of self-perception (and eventually self-reflection) that allows space in the mind for the game to unfold. Though I shall not deal with the issue here, I shall however state my view that the perception of beauty (the beauty of the Game) is an acquired characteristic of the conscious aware mind and is not an inborn trait, though it is commonly assumed that it is such.

The term Game if so is used to designate a perspective, a view, a fundamental receptivity, and openness to all life, as it is, now (at the moment of perception). Furthermore, I shall designate here the terms knowledge of being and depth of self-reflection as a measure of the involvement of the Gamer in the Game.

At this point and for the purpose of clarification let us try and pose some basic and quite common questions:

Does the Game have a purpose? A goal? An objective? (If yes what is it? If no, why play?)
Does the Game have degrees of Gaming? (If yes, what are they? If no, is it equivalent?)
Are there winners and losers in this game?
What are the rules of the Game?
Can one improve or deteriorate in his or hers Gaming?
Is the game dynamic or static?
    Implications? Implications? Implications?

There are of course many other interesting questions to present here and I hope that others shall indeed do so, my purpose here however is not to answer them but to give a hint to a possible proposition of thought and existence based on the concept of the Game; A total Game that is.

Our lives then are a game and though we do not have the rulebook we do have one clear ingredient at our disposal, a unique ingredient.
As its name goes, the unique perspective of self-reflection is our one and only gaming advantage, our unique ingredient.
We play by the sole fact of being alive, of being consciously aware of our selves. We can refrain from actively designing our own game play yet the game goes on with or without our own designs.
In fact the only “real” tool at our disposal in front of the restrictions life puts upon us in the great Game, is our own self-reflection.
So for now we may say that the Game is a human in the world and the game play is this individual’s self-reflection.

    Where does this lead?
Still working on it, help is welcome.

There is an endless debate raging from just about forever about what constitutes the nature of a human, the following is a short list of features that to my mind belong to the human nature, should belong to the human nature or will belong to the human nature if and when we as a specie will evolve into a creature that is a bit more than a verbose primate who shops till he drops, wars just for fun and argues about god because of boredom or righteousness.
That which I consider not a feature of the human nature I have termed, as is the norm, a bug, and thus a bug is a fault, a mistake, an error, a miscalculation, wrongness and so on and so forth. Above all a bug should be obliterated, changed, altered and if possible transformed into a feature beneficial to the human nature.

So first and foremost comes the foundation of all features and the mother of all bugs:
    (updated)
    1. Life is a feature- Death is a bug get rid of it

And then come all the rest

    2. Intelligence is a feature- ignorance is a bug get rid of it
    3. Health is a feature- illness is a bug get rid of it
    4. Freedom is a feature- slavery is a bug get rid of it
    5. Love is a feature- hatred is a bug get rid of it
    6. Rational thought is a feature- superstition is a bug get rid of it
    7. Gender equality is a feature- gender bias is a bug get rid of it
    8. Free resources for all is a feature- control is a bug get rid of it
    9. Deep emotions is a feature- cheap feelings is a bug get rid of it
    10. Chaos is a feature- a given order is a bug get rid of it
    11. Reflection is a feature- A fixed belief is a bug get rid of it
    12. Longevity is a feature- a given lifespan is a bug get rid of it
    13. Sharing is a feature- private aggregation is a bug get rid of it
    14. Non-attachment is a feature- attachment is a bug get rid of it
    15. Sensibility is a feature – rudeness is a bug get rid of it
    16. Happiness is a feature- suffering is a bug get rid of it
    17. Self-creation is a feature- The creator is a bug get rid of it
    18. Joy is a feature- pettiness is a bug get rid of it
    19. Dignity is a feature – oppression is a bug get rid of it
    20. Pride is a feature- arrogance is a bug get rid of it

    21. Oneness is a feature, Dichotomy is a bug, get rid of it
    (Inspired by 3LS)

22.Critical thought is a feature, manipulative thought is a bug, get rid of it.
    (proposed by dmitridb)

    a note:
This is only a preliminary list, I have in mind a much larger complement of features and bugs that I wish to investigate for a future transbeing.

What would you add/ take away?

"...We are at the beginning of a massive recontexting of our social life. We live in this new social environment, and yet we do not have any training or preparation to deal with it. We don't even know where to go to get such training. Thirty or 40 years ago all we had to do was copy our parents (e.g., marry at the same age as they did, have the same number of kids, stick it out no matter what). But what worked for them no longer works for us - their programming, their conditioning is from another age. Just as it didn't work to try and bring the extended family to the city in the 1890s, it does not work to carry the nuclear family with us as the major social structure in this new age. If we continue along the same old track, using the same values, the same pacing and the same rhythms as our parents, we'll find ourselves with a lot of loneliness, a lot of pain, one breakdown or breakup after another, disenchantment with marriage and parenthood, bitterness, anxiety, guilt, confusion and so on - and all this at the very moment when we are about to lift off to glorious new worlds!.."

the rest of the paper by FM-2030 is here

"..The single individual who is relatively free of imprinting can function with versatility, freedom and autonomy, and can begin to express a new kind of commitment - commitment not to a specific individual, not to an attachment figure, but to a much greater environment. If it is possible for us to identify with and be committed to a specific person or group, it ought to become possible for us to reprogram so that we can begin to identify with and be committed to ALL HUMANITY! If we can transcend imprinting, it is possible to empathize with everybody. The single individuals who are committed to their creative work, to causes, jobs and movements, are already moving in this direction of greater commitment. Ultimately, commitment to planet and all humanity will replace commitment to clan, family, or nation."

    Love One Another

Love one another, but make not a bond of love.
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup, but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread, but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone.
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together.
For the pillars of the temple stand apart.
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.

I present here a series of propositions, which describe the manner in which I see creativity:

    Proposition 1
Creativity (capital C) is a Power
    p2
Creativity is a Power of the Mind (collective of Humanity)
    p3
Creativity is a Power of the Mind operating on Semantic Objects (SO)
    p4
The main activity of Creativity is Combination and recombination of Semantic Objects (SO)
    p5
Creativity as a Power operates on the Meta-level of Humanity's mind.
    p6
Creativity operates as a wave, undulating, across all times since the beginning of human awareness and self-reference (self-reflection) capability.
    p7
In principle Creativity operates in all humans, all the time.
    p8
In practice, Creativity appears in some humans, some of the time.
    p9
The main purpose of Creativity on the large scale is to bring forth the actual from the possible. (Large scale refers to Humanity as a whole)
    p10
On the particular scale (personal) Creativity is the power that motivates/actuates change.

Beauty and creativity are inherently coupled and both are sub-sets or derivations of intelligence.

Note: the word “is” may be transmuted into the phrase “ may be described as”
