From disability to augmentation. I like the spirit of that!
It is not uncommon in natural evolution that disadvantaged and maladjusted individuals within a population of organisms are the first to adapt to a new radical change in the ecology, therefore becoming the most advantaged leading edge of an evolutionary transformation. Here, Aimee Mullins shows us the advent of an evolutionary transformation. As technology rapidly opens new frontiers for human augmentation, society will have to redefine what we consider as normative in human shape and human abilities.
