Old New Thoughts on Human Machine
I had these thoughts and wrote them down a while back, emailing them to my friend. Have recently dug it up and was rethinking them.

The machine of a human being is traveling through time and space. It is completely capable of operating in the mode of self learning autopilot. It is like a tractor that plows through everything.

We are the captains and crews. We exist inside, it is our domain and we could do many things from here. We cannot exit this machine until its final destination. We pick our functions. We could be janitor clean it and stop it from getting rusty, We could help it avoid getting dirty, We could optimize and improve how it functions to avoid more troubles. We could have fun by making it hit puddles and pot holes in the terrain We could run it into the ground by being stupid. We could spend all our time in our comfortable quarters not caring where it ends up, end enjoying ourselves by consuming the provisions provided for us so we could bring it safely to place where it needs to be .

We could override the autopilot. We could assume control over many functions even those that seem completely automatic. We could channel the input from different sensors to different
monitors, we could use different algorithms to interpret the data. We can even reinstall operating system and BIOS and as we do it will automatically detect and adapt to new software.

If we do not control it, it detects patterns, it puts things, events, stimuli into groups. It creates algorithms and follows them automating everything possible. So if captain is too busy entertaining himself his machine just plows through life without graciousness it could have. Like log rolling down the hill.

Having said all that, however, it seems that most people try to control the complicated machinery as a play or way and amusement of achieving what they want. But as soon as they encounter any trouble or anything unusual they withdraw from controls and let the autopilot plow through whatever it is...at its minimal capacity and efficiency...

This human machine does not belong to us, it is like our bosses expensive new Porsche or Jaguar he asked us to park in a good spot. Are we going to be careless and go racing it on the streets? Do we leave with the keys in ignition in a bad neighborhood.

It seems that what we do with that human machine is equivalent to using electronic microscope to hammer nails.
