Where forward thinking terrestrials share ideas and information about the state of the species, their planet and the universe, living the lives of science fiction. Introduction
Featuring Powers of Ten by Charles and Ray Eames, based on an idea by Kees Boeke.

Like the video of the crow using cars to smash nuts and then waiting for the traffic light to collect its food, this bird seems to have an idea of a 'goal' in its mind. There is a disconnect between the means (taking bread, putting it into the water, waiting, and moving the bread to new locations) from the goal (actually catching a fish) that indicates to me that this bird knows what it wants and then figures out how to get it. Although not as obvious as a chimpanzee fashioning a stick into a tool for gathering termites or a New Calidonian crow (if that is the correct spelling) fashioning many different tools and storing them for later use, this bird does manipulate its environment to its own ends.

Also, I apologize for the end of the video. I couldn't find it anywhere else.

This is a rather neat example of crow intelligence. I don't think these are New Caledonian crows, but still very impressive. It seems to me that these crows must have the abstract concept of a goal and intention.
