I've realized that I'm obsessed with places and spaces, I know that. I'm very much a visual thinker, interesting enough one of the people I researched was a visual thinker too, Nikola Tesla, not that I'm as brilliant as him. I'm getting off the the point, I'm obsessed with these spaces, especially secret spaces, hidden places, the unknown;Deep sea, mazes, hidden rooms, secret passages, hidden treasure, puzzles, hideouts, space between the walls, the brain. As a kid, there was always a new place to imagine and find in and around my house; the attic, under the sink, in the closet, behind the wall, in the ground, under the deck, the pipes, below the ivy, up the pepper tree, on the hill, on the roof, in the fireplace. Everywhere there was something to be discovered or something to be imagined, like the flow of water from the drain upstairs to the pipes next to the house.
My project delves into the unknowns of the brain, the secret connections that occur in the brain when consciousness and memory meet. Exploring our secret memories and creating new secret memories through a physical display of the record of oscillations from the world around us.
