Nothing new here. Imagery of natural systems bot micro and macro, periodic natural events share form, cycles and as a results some seemingly predictable patterns emerge. Constantly.
And then there are catastrophes which ironically are themselves apparently isomorphic in nature (there are 7 'main catastrophic topographies' according to René Thom).
Basically it appears that chaos itself, as much as we can understand it at this point in time could in theory be formalized and be exhibiting rigorous order of a different nature which we don't understand yet.
Why do I care? Because as a musician/composer and sound artist I am always struggling between prediction, systems and 'levels of chaotic activities' that I always end up allowing in my work. Either in terms of user input, human 'improvisation' or computer algorithms or other means.
SpaceCollective is yet another mean to see this dichotomy in action...
I hope to imagine and devise ways to represent this creative tension between order, predictability, mathematical precision and different levels of entropy and chaos.
Just look at the video intro to SC. It's fractals all over. (Example of 'fractal music... here).
Anyone who would want to comment ideate or collaborate on some 'thing' with me around the SC-sphere lùd love to hear about.
In the meantime I'll be scouting what's happening so far in the universe; here.
