Rafael Correa and the new socialism
Rafael Correa is the President of the Republic of Ecuador since january 2007. Ecuador has a twisted democratic history, and now, Rafael and his team are inmersed bringging some democratic instruments to the country to preserve and build a real democracy, and recently, the people have ratified his goverment.
It's amazing how the new rissing democracies of latin america are focusing the new values of the socialism. A truly values that can, perfectly, inspire the big changes that nowadays are very usually on the news; the new capitalism, the new values for society to solve a crisis time...
Correa have a very interesting interview one year ago, where he show how clear he have the values of the society, the reality of the press lobbies at Ecuador, the differences of the new and old socialism, the obligations of the state compensations… If you see all the 40 minutes you can discover a real politic of the XXI century. It’s amazing how poor countries are laying the foundations of the next real politics, and how the comradeship of the Latin America presidents building a serious alternative (or fixing some important themes) for the actual system.
It’s becoming a real choice, and, almost, we must to hear about it.

Related to this interview, I read this weekend the Zeitgeist manifesto, talking about the objective, and it’s encouraging how it’s been draw a real radiography of the problem, and with this blue print, how easy we can found a real solution for the evolution of society and the sustainable development.
We intend to restore the fundamental necessities and environmental awareness of the species through the advocation of the most current understandings of who and what we truly are, coupled with how science, nature and technology (rather than religion, politics and money) hold the keys to our personal growth, not only as individual human beings, but as a civilization, both structurally and spiritually. The central insights of this awareness is the recognition of the Emergent and Symbiotic elements of natural law and how aligning with these understandings as the bedrock of our personal and social institutions, life on earth can and will flourish into a system which will continuously grow in a positive way, where negative social consequences, such as social stratification, war, biases, elitism and criminal activity will be constantly reduced and, idealistically, eventually become nonexistent within the spectrum of human behavior itself.
This possibility is, of course, very difficult for most humans to consider, for we have been conditioned by society to think that crime, corruption and dishonesty is "the way it is" and that there will always be people who want to abuse, hurt and take advantage of others. Religion is the largest promoter of this propaganda, for the "us and them" or "good and evil" mentality promotes this false assumption.
P.D.: Zeitgeist is a German expression that means Spirit (Geist) of the time (Zeit), and it’s directly connected with the idea of having conscientious of the present, like the only way to don’t do the same errors of the past and evolve as human thanks to collective memory.
