Where forward thinking terrestrials share ideas and information about the state of the species, their planet and the universe, living the lives of science fiction. Introduction

I hope you have heard about the past Esquire E-Ink cover. I hope this because last October, to celebrate de 75th year of the magazine, Esquire “prints” a limited edition with the first e-ink cover.

It was an interesting approach to new formats for magazines in the future related to the uncertain future of the paper magazines. They test the technology and the impact on the audience, too. And, of course, with the theme of the month, it fits like a globe.

Good job but the e-ink technology (as you can see in eBook readers) seems that wasn’t enough.

This year, with the September edition, Esquire goes beyond, this time embedding a video material, real video on the magazine.

You can think that is unnecessary, and you will be right, but think again with the magazine publishers point of view. The future of the industry is still uncertain, you can see the new eBook readers (from Sony, Amazon...) as an alternative but they are for book formats. You can think that a magazine can be formatted like some kind of book, but there is not a really option. Why? Because magazine always was more graphical. And other more important reason is pushing ahead these last Esquire actions: the digital native generation.

The digital native generation is used to consume rich media, and with no link with the previous formats. You can justify an eBook reader because it remembers the old books format, but your son couldn’t do it. It’s as simply as this.

Some information about the technical solution used:
    - Screen uses liquid crystal display (LCD) technology
    - Each is 2.7mm thick with 320x240 resolution
    - The slim-line screens have rechargeable batteries (via mini-USB)
    - Rechargeable battery lasts up to 70 mins
    - The chip technology used to store the video is activated when the page is turned.
    - Each chip can hold up to 40 minutes of video.

The first clips will preview programmes from US TV network CBS and show adverts by the drinks company Pepsi. You can see a preview of the action in this video.

As our parents saw, the format of the world that we know is changing again.
Another clear example of how humanity evolves in cycles, but every time are faster and continuous.

P.D.: stay tuned with Americhip, the company behind this technology, because they provide marketing solutions through sound, sight, touch, scen and taste technologies.

Since we can remember, nature has always influenced our living with it and it has led us to respect and which likewise inspire us as we are scared, sometimes giving a very real knowledge that is very difficult to break once we have tested its universally harmonic results.

Many of the sciences on which we base our collective knowledge based on principles of cause and effect applied in nature, studies of expertise that we can qualify.

Creativity also has its place in nature, because geniuses like Gaudi have taught us in tangible ways that we designed for coexist with the forms of nature, reinterpreting, adapting and improving it incredibly beautiful.

    Figures for "Gaudí's strange geometry"

Although not everyone has access or opportunity to meet so accessible that awaken curiosity on various areas. But this situation is as old as our race.

Today, we live in a globalized world, with their pros and cons, which makes, among others, everything is faster, so if we look to improve us or any concept, we can find them incredibly fast at times, unimaginable for other epochs.

Thanks to the collective intelligence, improvements in the nature of things are possible and imaginable, and contemplating a fair achievement, a weight gain interesting. The belief in the doctrine of "generate the maximum results with minimum effort" has several interpretations which show the ingenuity coupled with the observation contributes to incredible results.

    Festo improving performance.

If watching these useful cases you feel inspired, hot days, many more people than at any time, also feels that way, and coupled to the means of disseminating knowledge and technological advances, many improvements can be checked and realized.

Not to mention that the inspiration can be found in any molecule of our sister nature, often observed for the first time.

P.D.: special mention to Theo Jansen, who inspire us walking cross nature, computers improving patterns, and nature again :)

Rafael Correa is the President of the Republic of Ecuador since january 2007. Ecuador has a twisted democratic history, and now, Rafael and his team are inmersed bringging some democratic instruments to the country to preserve and build a real democracy, and recently, the people have ratified his goverment.

It's amazing how the new rissing democracies of latin america are focusing the new values of the socialism. A truly values that can, perfectly, inspire the big changes that nowadays are very usually on the news; the new capitalism, the new values for society to solve a crisis time...

Correa have a very interesting interview one year ago, where he show how clear he have the values of the society, the reality of the press lobbies at Ecuador, the differences of the new and old socialism, the obligations of the state compensations… If you see all the 40 minutes you can discover a real politic of the XXI century. It’s amazing how poor countries are laying the foundations of the next real politics, and how the comradeship of the Latin America presidents building a serious alternative (or fixing some important themes) for the actual system.

It’s becoming a real choice, and, almost, we must to hear about it.

If you want to download the entire interview, click here.

Related to this interview, I read this weekend the Zeitgeist manifesto, talking about the objective, and it’s encouraging how it’s been draw a real radiography of the problem, and with this blue print, how easy we can found a real solution for the evolution of society and the sustainable development.

We intend to restore the fundamental necessities and environmental awareness of the species through the advocation of the most current understandings of who and what we truly are, coupled with how science, nature and technology (rather than religion, politics and money) hold the keys to our personal growth, not only as individual human beings, but as a civilization, both structurally and spiritually. The central insights of this awareness is the recognition of the Emergent and Symbiotic elements of natural law and how aligning with these understandings as the bedrock of our personal and social institutions, life on earth can and will flourish into a system which will continuously grow in a positive way, where negative social consequences, such as social stratification, war, biases, elitism and criminal activity will be constantly reduced and, idealistically, eventually become nonexistent within the spectrum of human behavior itself.

This possibility is, of course, very difficult for most humans to consider, for we have been conditioned by society to think that crime, corruption and dishonesty is "the way it is" and that there will always be people who want to abuse, hurt and take advantage of others. Religion is the largest promoter of this propaganda, for the "us and them" or "good and evil" mentality promotes this false assumption.

P.D.: Zeitgeist is a German expression that means Spirit (Geist) of the time (Zeit), and it’s directly connected with the idea of having conscientious of the present, like the only way to don’t do the same errors of the past and evolve as human thanks to collective memory.

Last month, with the celebration of the third group's birthday, the people from the spanish mobile Adobe user group, were bussy preparing a day event at the Adobe offices at Barcelona. It was a good date, because the Mobile World Congress was just finished and we can meet with a lot of intenational friends.

    This time, the program was:
    - 3 years with Flash on devices (BlocketPC team)
    - Adobe Mobile Packager & distributable player (Mark Doherty)
    - Layout Manager (Marcos González)
    - Bussines chances: GetJar (Patrick Mork)
    - Feather Framework (Raúl Jimenez)

This event was surprising, for us, and for the Adobe people because there was one with the best afluence, with more than 40 assistants.
We made shirts, badges and there was a prize draw for a Nokia N71 and a Web Premium package.

We hope that developers was inspired with the opportunities developing Flash content for mobile devices, the possibilities to sell his own content, and the use of our open source projects like Feather Framework and Layout Manager.

The oficial site for the event.
And the feedback post on the blog (with more images)

P.D.: Oh yeah! our loved Ginno's was the perfect place for lunch :)

We have a lot of homework, and every day, less time to do it. A wise vision will be doing things once in the correct way (don't waste time redoing things, because we haven't this time)

"We are called to be architects of the future, not its victims"
And my children says: Wow, nanotatoos!

How we can focus the licit use of the technology?
First of all, knowing the possibilities, and, after, ordening the priorities, lined up with the human knowing, not human entertainment.

Inspiring video from Microsoft Office Labs published last week. It's is very hopefully to see how Microsoft is encouraging the clean and minimal UI, with a selected colour for every field. But, like always, 2019 is so far to see it in action, more if you think about the last devices with multitouch screens and Flashlite powered. Enjoy :)
