I've always been in awe of the parallels between mycelial and neural networks and Terrence McKenna's thoughts on mushroom consumption enhancing human evolution and consciousness. Mushrooms never cease to amaze me...

Beatrix wrote:

HI Nagash, thanks :)
This must be a great book.

I am totally fascinated by the micelyum , it seems to me the perfect network , the perfect system .
Mycelium are the neurological network of nature - - its like the earth's brain. Mushrooms do communicate.

Stamets believes that the way mushrooms communicate with each other reveals them as a kind of Gaian Internet, and says that our current computer technology mimics their biological model of network integration.

Stamets also compares human brain to the mycelial networks - the human neural network is practically the same as the mycelial one.
