Nine years ago scientists discovered the expansion of the universe is accelerating, and slowly we are coming to terms with the simple fact that time is set on a crash course with absolute zero. What is absolute zero? Why is it important to understand what zero really is? This first part explains that absolute zero is an ultimate boundary in physical reality, beyond which no other possibilities exist. Even an infinite universe has boundaries. – Gevin Giorbran

Everything Forever written by the late Gevin Giorbran will suck your brain into a quantum singularity. This amazing piece of literature will be the last work of Gevin Giorbran who died just a month ago. Read this book, the cosmos will thank you.

Flag designed by James Cadle in 1969

I've been doing a bit of independent research on different interpretations of the "flag of the earth." It's been interesting to see what you find cached away on the internet—dreams, ideas, interpretations. As we as a species move closer to being cosmo-formed space dwellers I've been thinking a lot of what a branded representation of the planet, its humans, its culture, its life, should look like. Will our solar system one day have a flag of unity with the growing federation of planets?

In a single symbol rests the hope of planetary unity and connection with worlds around us. As a citizen and designer I would suggest a project is started to explore and research a proper emblem to take with us across the event horizon of the future. I think this must be one of the most difficult design projects, to create a design that speaks to every human spirit and stirs them toward a common cause and greater unity—from the many to the one.

I've done a hefty chunk of research on the topic thus far, I'll be posting with more notes and examples in later posts.
