The above jpegs are an excerpt from my design project on exploring this intuitive habit of repeating lines on a paper. I spent my entire final term translating that into volumes and with not-so-distant relevance to the field ( vehicle design) am studying.
Since all of my work to date has been more personal than traditional, I chose to animate my simple impulsive expressions on paper to a form(s). This ended as linear volumes repeating it self , similar to weaving pattern; the linear volumes are are like ropes or cords and repeating them in a certain fashion created a temporary light volume.
Following my intuitions rather than present practical applications as a source of inspiration, I believe such construction or the abstract concept behind it could be used to build dynamic volumes not in a sense of fashion or ornamental aesthetic but literally as temporary, multifunctional, light forms of tomorrow . (makes me remotely think of LEGO)
Although development on this project was limited, it did open up new areas of thought and question regarding sustainable forms and design cognition.
More on the project here ( The project was based over a design brief and so the personal motive coalesces with a theme )
