    What the Budda Taught
    Project: The Total Library
"Reality has no opposite. Reality IS. NIRVANA IS." (emphasis appears in original)
This author—Walpola Rahula—explains plainly the teachings of the Buddha. A sort of spirituality without God (or Gods), Buddhism does not teach the finite or the infinite, nor beginnings, nor endings. Buddhism offers no balm or shield from the "thousand natural shocks that flesh is heir to". Buddhism simply teaches that suffering can be eradicated in the individual.

"Suffering" here is used in broad terms. From bittersweet nostalgia, to the pang of realizing that one's child must grow up and be a child no more, to the agony of the death of a spouse, the entire spectrum of suffering is considered.

This lucid book is one of my suggestions for prose that can redefine reality. No one under the influence of suffering can possibly have a clear view of reality. If you agree with the previous statement, then please investigate what the Buddha taught.

Shakyamuni was a great human , given the times in which he lived, there are no doubts about that, the road from that to enlightenment and liberation is strife with contextual misunderstandings.. let the great naga be.. he did his share , let us do ours.. let there be no misunderstandings here, i carry within me the highest respect for the thatagatha..
