Where forward thinking terrestrials share ideas and information about the state of the species, their planet and the universe, living the lives of science fiction. Introduction
Featuring Powers of Ten by Charles and Ray Eames, based on an idea by Kees Boeke.
recently i have found some articles on the concept of "Singularity" — the idea that at a certain time humans and machines will coalesce in to a singular property. Some ideas claim that this will happen at some time in the 2020ish range— at least that's all I've seen so far. after i had read these articles i began to think.

—What would make this so bad?

    — If illness and possibly death could be cured through this technology then why fight it?

    — If humans where merged with machine, could one travel vast distances through the simple act of a download?

    — instead of the "standard" split of human ideology's (genetically purified, nano help, homo/cybernetic melding, full cybernetic function with "a ghost in the shell") wouldn't it perpetuate gradually— as time progressed?

    — while said time was progressing wouldn't older factions remove themselves? possibility's include, getting off this rock and moving through space, natural elimination of the sub-species,can peaceful transitions be possible?

    just thinking...
