What will happen when for the first time in ages different human species will inhabit the earth at the same time? The day may be upon us when people...
    Now playing SpaceCollective

Where is God in our future?
As I'm sure most of humanity would agree, God is either one of two things:

    1. God is this device that humanity has created as a crutch to explain things we do not understand and/or, to give some sort of higher purpose that we somehow need or want.

    2. Real.

I want to make the distinction between God and religion. I am not talking in the context of religion. What difference would it make? In my personal view the two could not be further apart, but that's on a different note.
The place of God could continue to be in the same as it has always been. Depending on your viewpoint, an idea that will eventually fade away with the advancement and enlightenment of humanity. With the advancement of the sciences we will be able to explain a little more of this vastly complex universe, and may even look back on all the ages we leaned on this idea as a somewhat necessary step to eventual maturity.
God could also continue to be as relevant, and as real, and as there as you or me. Of coarse, all depending on you view point, that is if God relies on our viewpoint in the first place.
For me, the idea that humanity will continue to advance to this perfect state of ultimate achievement in this self-aggrandizing age of enlightenment. I wonder if there will be room for any kind of god at all.

I don't think it's wise to throw ideas out the window just because they're not in fashion, so to speak. Even more so if it just makes you uncomfortable (me included).

(It just occurred to me that i might be yelling at someone that may not be there, please forgive this and i hope you enjoyed my article in spite of it.)

Okay, this has nothing to do whith anything but i have to say it.

If you are Commenting on an article, it would bo cool if the comment size doesn't rival the actual article.

I personally feel that a paragraph is sufficient to sum up a thought for a comment. maybe two well developed ones at the most, but that should be about it. I've com across comments that are like small essays.
I say if you feel inspired, publish another article and source the other one as inspiration.

    thank you,

    Joush

If I could take a guess, I would say that the creation of the H+ would involve multiple generations of birthing pangs for humanity as a whole. Sure there will be definite benefits on the whole, but if you dig dystopian story lines as much as I do, and with that in mind, take a look in the past. I could never imagine a seamless transition from a purely natural human society, to one that is fundamentally changing considering major advances in science and technology, also major advances in culture, society, human rights, in the past.
The definition of human is; our physical and mental limits, the way we have interacted for thousands of years, and not to mention how authority is defined and governed. Humanity will change immensely even at our core levels, if genetics continues to advance the way it has in the past ten years, the H+ wont be any more "human" than we are as much chimpanzees.
I might be taking the slightly more ugly position, but you might want to take all of the major advances (everything, technology to industry) and consider how much of an effect it will have. Ethics wont even really apply be applicable (even though I consider ethics to be a huge crock).
I'm just wondering if the human advance will be more like civil rights than the renaissance.
