    PROJECT : PERSONAL POD
Project: Design Media Arts at UCLA
I CREATED MY POD PROJECT ASSUMING THAT WE WOULD NOT HAVE CREATED GRAVITY IN SPACE. I'M WARMING UP TO THE IDEA OF FLOATING AROUND BUT I WOULD ALSO LIKE TO HAVE THE OPTION OF BEING HELD IN PLACE INSIDE A PERSONAL POD. THE ENVIRONMENT/ ROOMS WILL BE SCREEN BASED AND INTERACTIVE, TACTILE MULTI TOUCH INGTERFACES. PEOPLE CAN MANIPULATE THEIR ENVIRONMENTS BY TOUCHING THE SCREENS AND THE PERSONAL POD IS MUCH LIKE A PERSONAL TENT.

AS A RESULT I WILL DESIGN A BOOK AND A PERSONAL POD WHICH WILL BE OF ACTUAL SIZE AND INSTALLED FOR VIEWING.

THE POD will be hand sewn and crafted out of white cotton fabric and metal wires for structure. it will be cocoon shaped and hung from the ceiling and the back wall. Some form of life-size figure will be inside representing the size of the pod and how it works. The structure will be lit revealing the shape of the figure inside.

THE BOOK will explain the project and document the process of the project. I will include the entries in this blog along with illustrations and photography explaining both the experience inside the pod as well as the experience in the space collective.
