HUBERT DUPRAT AQUATIC CADDIS-FLY LARVAE WITH CASE 1980-2002
Animal as artist? The Aquatic Caddis-fly Larvae builds these casings in their normal habitat out of twigs and pebbles. Duprat provides the larvae with new building materials, gold and precious stones, and place the larvae in a wall mounted aquarium within an art gallery. The casing takes roughly 30 days to make.

SKIP SCHUCKMANN TURKEY NEST KIVA 1998
Skip Schuckmann is an artist concerned with sustainability, and calls his process Micro-climate sculpting. Skip works on a client's property leading water, moving rocks and building kivas. I visited one of his pieces up in Ojai (a work in progress) and it was one of the strongest nature experiences I have had here in the US.

YUKINORI YANAGI WANDERING POSITION 1997
Releasing an ant into a confined space and recording the ant's movement around the space with a crayon. The end result is a beautiful line drawing on the floor.
