2/3 INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCE

My second option would also be intended for a shorter period of time as a recuperating experience. It would primarily be an experience for a single person but it would be in the form of a room. There would be a large window in the room so the person could enjoy sunshine and a view. All other walls would be covered with screens that would show imagery of nature (both computer generated and actual). The screens would be multi touch interfaces so the person could control imagery and even turn it off. Much like the Skinner Box mentioned below, the environment would be controlled in terms of humidity, temperature, sound and scent. Each person would be able to decide these things according to preference to give the illusion of being in nature. There would have to be some form of plant life in these rooms as well, perhaps floating through the room in closed pods that could be opened. It would be ideal if these plants were edible and the source of food while in space.
