michaeleruleThu, Dec 27, 2007 I think the algorithms could easily support a depth vector and thus be amenable to some sort of 3D fractal landscape viewer. Perhaps I'll try a simple red/blue color glasses 3D mode, and some day we might set up a full color 3D interactive installation ?
We've talked about getting it to work with the Wii for some time. I personally do not have the expertise to do this, but a good friend Keegan has a Wii remote partially working on a similar program ( I'll try to get him on spacecollective ) . I am working in Java ... if only there were a hack for getting a Wii remote into Java.
A laser projected fractal would be awesome. I cannot imagine how this might be accomplished. In general fractal features are nowhere differentiable. Perhaps the smooth curves of some strange attractors would work best ? Alternatively, perhaps a large bank of pulsed lasers could render a point distribution of a FLAM3 / ElectricSheep like fractal ?
We have played with projectors using an early prototype, indeed render's current user images consist of this program projected over his body.
