more of the goggles
Last night we tested out some of the Goggles on the street. We visited all the drunk people to see what would happen. I remember the following quotes :
"I wish I had one of those blind people sticks so I could walk around with these on all the time"
"Thems Nice"
"What the hell?"
"Its like, an octagon, but with way more sides"
"This is better than drugs"
"My God, its full of stars"
"I need another fix"
"No !!!!"
"Are you on this shit too?"
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?"
"Why are you a triangle?"
The name of [Chris/Sal/Austin]'s band "Sundog Peacehouse" is perfect. In my mind, the band name and music conjures up images of a post-human society where modification of the consciousness through drugs and hacking has become commonplace. While we were out on the street, we imagined a world where mind-hacking was the new drug. Junkies wander the streets looking for a few more joules of energy to run their synthetic neuromodulators. Kids panhandle just to buy a few more AA batteries. Brilliant engineers slowly hack their minds away into technological oblivion.
Doses of goggles are measured in Lumens and Hertz. Tentative abbreviations for the goggles in use that night included "the G" and "on the gogg".
