The Hidden Nature of Los Angeles

I have lived in Los Angeles for nearly three years now, and have always wondered where all the nature was hiding. I always knew that a drive down the Pacific Coast Highway would always lend me a beautiful coast line and sunset to watch, but I never knew that there great valleys and canyons in my own backyard.
This weekend I did some location scouting in the Santa Monica Mountains, which can be explored from the west end of Sunset Blvd. up farther north towards Malibu and Pepperdine University. I detoured off Kanan Dume Road which led me up some winding paths to some great sights.
I did not find exactly what I was hoping for, but I did discover a gem of nature that was beautiful none the less. Whether I utilize the location for my atmospheric time lapse video is still up for debate, but I am glad I have at least one possible location for filming.
Here are some pictures, enjoy, and let me know what you think.
