    Hello Joseph,

Who do you mean by, "I wonder who will be that person."?
    Which person?

I can understand why you say "normal people"...
However I don't think it's healthy to make that separation. I see it too - people who don't want to think or learn - but separating "us" and "them" can create elitism, which has led to dystopian endings.

It's true that some ideas are better for the whole and "we" can be the vessels for the seeding of those, but don't be sad about the "normal" ones. They bring us back to earth. A society comprised solely of philosophers wouldn't get much done, I think.

    Olena:
I mean it as an allegory of an institution. E.g.: scientists or dunno, mentioned philosophers.

But yeah, you're right, we need them and they need us. I'm sad about not being perceived.
    Anyway, thank you.

“You must be the change you wish to see in the world. “
    – Mahatma Gandhi

The time is fast approaching when humans must decide upon our true purpose. We must then live through that purpose and define why we exist.

I do believe it will happen, and I choose myself to make it happen. If not me, then who?

PK - I don't think that it will be just one of those, but all, in a combined effort. Or is that what you were saying?

I agree with Matt, to start with yourself. To be the person you could love. But, yeah... I get sad about not being understood also. Not agreed with even, but just having to drop the subject because this blockade arises...
How can we communicate, without making the other feel attacked, or, left behind?

What an odd coincidence that I find this post. I have been tackling the idea of changing one's external representation to one that is consistent with one's ideal and benevolent inner happiness. The change that comes day in and day out is but a product of ourselves. So we must change ourselves in order to reach those "better days."

Porcelainkid, you seem like someone I would get along with, but we are anything but normal, WE are the bringers of change. The manifestation of the "better destination" will be brought by us. One of the differences I see between us and the "normal" people (I hate the elitism in saying that but...) is that we realize we have control of what comes in our future and it's just a matter of changing ourselves and maintaining the motivation to will the desired change.

    Olena / Infinitas / Matt:
Yes, I agree with elitism. I know, builder is as necessary as mathematician, for whole community. Olena I didn't mean a person, but companionship. In my eyes I'm on the right way to be a person i would love. We need to have resolution to be that person. In my opinion it requires a lot of hard work on myself. Olena I think, that yeah, we shouldn't be elitists. But we must know who we are. We are not better, we're just different.
I'm gonna made my point. I think, common people could hardly open their mind to listen our talks, society of future should be build collaterally to their own world of normality.
(Is it understandable, please?) That's the only way to don't make them fell attacked...Do you agree?

    Infinitas: I agree.

Ex post facto we have to be very careful with the vision of future. It won't be a better future, It will be something we'll made up. Because of this we have to think, what's the most important thing, what's the right way? We should make a discussion here on SC about that...

What are we to change? Why should we change it? Who says we are the only ones who can change it?

I must say that I don't agree with the way the world works. So long as money and ignorance reign, the world will be a dark and depressing place. How does one bring about national change? International? Global? The answer is simple... money (debt).
