I look at the world and the current state of affairs and then I imagine what someone from 100 years in the future would say about us. Ignoring the absurd capabilities that man and machine would have then, I think they will see us as pitiful, arrogant, ignorant and self-loathing. In a way, I want to be part of fixing that obvious problem in today's society. But how do we go about it? Do we follow the path of the few compassionate mentors of our past, like Jesus and Gautama Buddha and try to be as messiah-like as possible? Or do we accept the fact that we are beyond the event horizon and will never be able to change today's society in hope of creating a better tomorrow? There has to be some kind of middle way that...that sets us free- all of us.
