The object created quite a stir it was believed that no living object could survive with out the protection of an atmosphere but this object...

Ok...this might be a bit out of place, but I'm posting it nonetheless. It's a quirky video on downtown LA. The editing is a bit hard to watch at times (too much, too fast makes me dizzy), but I found it to be an good example of developing interest/fascination out of the most mundane of things.

A first approach to our story treatment (posted on Joshua’s time capsule). Chapter 1 Dumb people overload “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.” God… what in the world was he thinking when he...

Of course the first thing that was out of place was the rock, which even with the lopsided throw, missed my head by half an inch. The poor old guy just didn’t know what he’d do with himself now, and, an old man, he was probably just scared. Just the same, a group of us went down there to calm him down. The other residents just stared out the...

Traveling with no destination; Pointing out a point in space. How do you decide where is the best place to start from? The search for a destination starts with the search of a purpose. For; not just going but going somewhere and getting somewhere. This is a search for a pivot to say there I am going there and knowing there you are there when...

Progress Report 847F The new section of the station should be opening soon. The main growth has been completed. We will continue checks to determine when the inner layer of processing cells has developed enough to support life. These new developments are very exciting for me and everyone on the growth crew. This is the fastest we have ever...

This space habitat was started as an alternative culture in opposition to the growing conservatives who are promoting a sterile earth. The group is not opposed to technology; rather they embrace it as a way to promote healthy environments. They are opposed to the way in which technology is used on earth as a constant enemy to the ecology. The...

the set-up The space colony was launched in 2097 by a group of private investors looking to escape from the uber-conservative politicians on earth. As more and more ecological disasters occurred in the early half of the 21st century, earth’s leaders moved to quickly advance their technologies. But, instead of using technology to promote a...

Dust and dirt rise, settle and spin on an empty lot. A massive city sprawls like an embossed array of LED’s. The wind is desert hot and pooling at a point where the ocean breeze can only look. Small barefoot feet walk on dirt that is littered with broken glass, small stones, and bits of city waste. A young feminine voice is humming...

...a quote from this very interesting article that Claire gave us... The surrealists believed that objects in the world possess a certain but unspecifiable intensity that had been dulled by everyday use and utility. They meant to reanimate this dormant intensity, to bring their minds once again into close contact with the matter that made up...

Sonoluminescence is the emission of short bursts of light from imploding bubbles in a liquid when excited by sound. Sonoluminescence may or may not occur whenever a sound wave of sufficient intensity induces a gaseous cavity within a liquid to quickly collapse. This cavity may take the form of a pre-existing bubble, or may be generated...
