In the 1970s space colonies were considered to be a viable alternative to a life restricted to planet Earth. The design of cylindrical space...

I used a different character now and changed the proportions.
I think in total it has to get a little bit brighter because the edges got really dark now.
and i´m gonna add some shadows to the smaller figures in the background

Greg´s comments on last presentation showing these perspectives and the new section and elevation shown in the previous entry:

    Where is the envelope?
It is a little brute. A rough solution for an envelope.
You should work on the skin.
It does not want to be a big open space with only ornament on the exterior
You should look at trellis’s …all structure
Room and envelope needs a different language
Turkish coffee cup (one is structure and the other envelope)
Look at Louis Kahn….volumetric strategies are similar. (Reference Exeter library)
You need a more sophisticated architecture solution about enclosure
    A model 1:500 at least
The 2d quality. Develop a drawing technique for each layer.
Make some surface like and some more structural.

making the layers of the section more continuous (the floor- with the facade-spaces)
    the outer facade becomes ornamented as well; for structural reasons and to create openings;

framing the floor spaces and making them legible on the outside and hiding the blind space underneath the facade spaces

and here some renderings of what i´m trying right now:
working with patterns as surface patches and assembling them (same technique as with the physical model)

in the middle one of the representational spaces where the pattern forms the facade.
around it are the spaces where the pattern forms the floor.
I´m going to add some water to create views to outer space on the floor (like in space where i can look out through the floor into the vastness of outer space)
the last layer to the outside is purely artificial landscape that generates views for the adjacent floor-spaces.

the ring somehow got too slim. but that happened because i thought that it should be possible to look into the ring from the center of the flowery spaces. and that is easier when the radius is bigger because then the space can be bigger (floor area in curvature direction)
