The idea to use the yellow bars & type from the cover that way only came up about half way through. As I said there wasn't any real concept to start out, but having made an initial selection of various type & images from this mag and starting to edit & lay it out a narrative started to appear and that led to the idea of having each poster consist of cuts from a single issue & using the cover info to contain it as a unit.
I've done another one since then, turns out the hard part is actually finding older issues that have enough good material in them to make something interesting, newer issues are nowhere near as good (for this) because of the way the style of photography & subject matter have changed over the years.
