A point OF indifference

I don't care about the word Art, because it has been discredited so much these days.
and i find the adoration of art extremely unnecessary.
And i think, i don't know... this is a difficult position, you know, ....
my idea was to chose,
to find
an object
that wouldn't attract
me
either by its beauty or by its ugliness.
To find ..
to decide..
to find .......
to chose,
a point of indifference in my looking at it.

an excerpt from the only TV interview with Marcel Duchamp on BBC’s Late Night Line-Up on 5 June 1966 by Joan Bakewell, distorted and re-edited, to emphasize the concept of looking at something with a point of"indifference"in the looking itself.
