Our image of nature as static, balanced and harmonic is naive and up for reconsideration.
Where technology and nature are traditionally seen as opposed, they now appear to merge
    or even trade places.

We must no longer see ourselves as the anti-natural species that merely threatens and eliminate nature, but rather as catalysts of evolution. With our urge to design our environment, we cause the rising of a next nature which is unpredictable as ever.
    Nature changes along with us.

image & video : from "Whale" video installation by artists Meirav Heiman and Yossi Ben-Shoshan, first exhibited in "UNNATURAL" exhibition, Bass Meuseum of Art, 2009.

This installation brings a life-size sperm whale trapped in its too-tight tank, all made of digital pixelated images that seem so real, and brings up uncomfortable feelings about our relationship with nature (Miami-Herald).

I really like the Next Nature book. It is a little bit gross, ugly, but its right. It helps me go through the transition into the climate changes and global dumpster. Now I know that words sometimes come to me with a surprise, but I appreciate the link - and I send you a big hug!
