Looking towards downtown Chicago from the South, from an elevated train platform. On the right, nature, on the left, Mies Van Der Rohe's Crown Hall. The tube ahead, in orange is Rem Koolhaas.
Old and new, together again.

My father once asked me a question a long while ago. Essentially, we were talking about religion and some of the aspects of it. He's committed to his beliefs but this time, he posed a question that didn't sound like him and one I occasionally ponder.
"If God created the world and God is in control of what we consider our immediate universe, the planets, Earth, time and space and our very beings, what created God? What's beyond what we know and what's beyond what we don't?"
At that point, my mind truly went blank as it went through the variations of person to sky to space to universe to an entity to nothing. Knowledge ended there. I was 15 if I remember correctly. Today, this question has more knowledge attached to it, but I still have no answer.
